Membership in the Society shall be limited to persons interested in furthering the objectives of the Society. Application for CNSS Membership must be made on the official CNSS Application form and submitted to the address indicated on the form with the required signatures. The society requires the names and signatures of two Active CNSS members in support of the applicant. New applications are reviewed and approved by the Membership Committee. We will bill you for membership fees once your application is approved. Please do not send money now.
Junior Members require the signature of an active CNSS member and their residency training program director. If the program director is also an active CNSS member, then only one signature is required. Junior Member must be registered in neurosurgical training programs recognized by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. First-year residents do not pay membership fees. When junior members complete their residency and receive a certificate in neurosurgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or from the Corporation professionnelle des Médecins du Québec, we automatically change their status to Active membership and bill accordingly.
Active Members must be physicians certified in neurosurgery by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, or licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of any Province of Canada, to practice neurosurgery.
Associate Members are MDs or PhDs, or other individuals in the allied fields of medicine, who are interested in the study of the nervous system.
Retired Members are past members who have retired from the active practice of their specialty. In order to receive the reduced “retired” member rate, you must have previously been a Active member with the society.
